Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use Pics.Direct.
Information We Collect
When you use Pics.Direct, we may collect:
- Photos you send via RCS/SMS for printing
- Your phone number for order processing and communication
- Shipping address(es) for order delivery
- Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)
- Basic usage and analytics information to improve our service
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Process and fulfill your photo printing orders
- Communicate with you about your orders
- Provide customer support
- Improve and maintain our services
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
Photo Privacy & Security
Your photos are personal, and we treat them with care.
- Photos are transmitted and stored using commercially reasonable security safeguards, including encryption
- We never sell, share, or use your photos for advertising or marketing purposes
- Photos are automatically deleted from our systems approximately 30 days after printing
- Only authorized personnel or service providers involved in order fulfillment may access your photos when necessary
SMS/RCS Messaging Consent
When you provide your phone number and consent to receive messages from Pics.Direct:
- We collect your phone number, consent timestamp, IP address, and the consent language shown to you
- This information is used solely to verify consent and comply with messaging regulations
- Messages from Pics.Direct are transactional and service-related only, including order confirmations, payment links, shipping updates, and customer support communications
- Mobile numbers are not shared with third parties. Your mobile number, SMS opt-in data, and consent information will never be sold, rented, or shared with any third party, and never for marketing or promotional purposes
- Your phone number is shared only with Twilio, our messaging provider, for the sole purpose of delivering the messages you asked for
- Message frequency varies. How many messages you receive depends entirely on your own order activity — if you never place an order, you receive only the one opt-in confirmation
- Message and data rates may apply. Any charges are set by your mobile carrier, not by Pics.Direct
- You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing hello@pics.direct. Reply HELP for help
- Consent records may be retained for compliance and fraud prevention purposes
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We may share information only with trusted service providers necessary to operate Pics.Direct, including:
- Prodigi for print fulfillment and shipping
- Stripe for payment processing
- Twilio for SMS/RCS message delivery
- AWS for secure cloud infrastructure and storage
- Google Analytics and PostHog for website and product analytics
- Anthropic for understanding the questions you text us, so we can answer them faster. We send only the words of your message. Your photos are never sent. Your phone number, address, and order details are never sent.
Your photos are never shared with Anthropic or any other AI service, and are never used to train AI models.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process.
Data Retention
Photos are generally deleted approximately 30 days after printing.
Certain records, including transaction history, shipping records, and messaging consent logs, may be retained longer where necessary for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes.
International Processing
Our service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate.
Children's Privacy
Pics.Direct is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Your Rights
You may request to:
- Access information we have about you
- Delete your data where applicable
- Update your contact information
- Opt out of non-essential communications

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
